Ending Virtual Adoption
De afgelopen jaren hebben wij dankzij jullie steun heel veel opvangcentra financieel kunnen helpen bij de verzorging / operatie / medicatie van dieren die permanente of urgente medische zorg nodig hadden.
Aangezien wij het belangrijk vinden dat het geld wat u voor een dier doneerde ook daadwerkelijk bij dit dier terecht kwam, is hiervoor een uitgebreid financieel systeem opgezet. Hierin wordt per dier bijgehouden wie, wanneer, wat betaalt en tevens welk bedrag wij op welke datum aan het opvangcentrum (per dier) hebben overgemaakt. Uiteraard moeten deze gegevens ook allemaal netjes in de boekhouding verwerkt worden. Zoals ubegrijpt is dit heel veel werk voor onze voorzitter. Daarbij komt het bijhouden van de website, de updates verwerken, dieren die overleden of geplaatst zijn op de site hergroeperen. Tevens moeten ook nieuwe donateurs bij elk dier op de site vermeld worden. Dit gebeurde voornamelijk door de secrataris, waarna het door de voorzitter gecontroleerd en gepubliceerd werd en de update email verstuurd werd. Dan zijn er de contacten met de opvangcentra om regelmatig updates te vragen voor de dieren, gelukkig werden wij hier de laatste maanden in gesteund door Lian. Helaas heeft Lian te kennen gegeven minder tijd te hebben om zich hiermee bezig te houden, dit in combinatie met het feit dat door persoonlijke omstandigheden van de voorzitter, zij het niet meer kan opbrengen om zoveel tijd vrij te maken voor deze complexe administratie, heeft ons doen besluiten per 1 januar 2012 te stoppen met het virtuele adoptie project. Wij betreuren het maar we zijn ook blij en trots dat we toch in de afgelopen jaren zoveel dieren hebben kunnen helpen. Deze beslissing gaat vooraf aan andere wijzigingen binnen de AMCF waarover u te zijner tijd uiteraard geïnformeerd zult worden. Wij verzoeken u, indien u een automatische incasso heeft afgegeven, om deze per 31 december 2011 stop te zetten. Wij betalen de opvangcentra alle bedragen uit die ontvangen zijn tot en met 31 december. Bedragen die binnenkomen na die datum komen in de ‘algemene’ donatie rekening van de AMCF! Nogmaals bedanken wij u voor al uw steun aan de dieren die dankzij deze steun geholpen konden worden. | During the last couple of years, thanks to the support of our sponsors, we have been able to help many shelters financially with the care, operations and medication of animals that have needed permanent or urgent medical care.
Because it was important that the money that was donated for a particular animal reached that animal, it was essential that an extended financial system was set up. Within this system was recorded all the necessary information, including who has paid what amount, when it was paid, and also what amount was paid by the AMCF, and on which date it was paid, for each sponsored animal in the shelters. It was essential that this information was accurately recorded in the accounting system. This was a lot of work that has been carried out by the president of the AMCF. Additionally, there has been the maintenance of the website, updating the information on the animals, adding new animals, regrouping animals that are dead or adopted, and placing new sponsors on the site. This work has been undertaken by the secretary, after which is has been checked and published by the president, who then sends out an update email. There has also been the work involved in contacting the shelters, asking for regular updates. Fortunately we have had support with this from Lian for the last couple of months. Unfortunately, Lian has told us she has less time to spend on the AMCF. Because of this situation, combined with changes to the personal circumstances of the president, who no longer has sufficient spare time to cope with the complex administration of the Virtual Adoption project, we have had to decide to stop the VA project by 1 January 2012. We are sad to have to stop this now, but are also happy that we were able to help so many animals over the past couple of years. If a shelter has an animal on our Virtual Adoption website, we will pay all monies received for that animal up until 31 December 2011 to the shelters.
